Front Street, the main stretch for restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries, is closed to traffic on October 31. Other events include the Vic-Maui Yacht Race, from Victoria, BC, Canada to Lahaina. It is the longest in the Western Hemisphere. Every November the Lahaina Civic Center hosts many top NCAA basketball teams, and every January the PGA Tour’s Mercedes-Benz Championship is held at the Plantation Course at Kapalua.

Wonderful History and Culture

Kids love visiting the replica of a whaling ship the Carthaginian 2 at the Lahaina Small Boat Harbor. If you prefer to avoid boats, you may be interested in the Sugar Cane Train, the only train trip in Hawaii. It travels from Lahaina to Kaanapali and back and offers a dinner train trip.
