or try a new water sport such as diving, snorkeling, and kayaking.

Outdoor Activities

Other daytime options include trips to the historic Civil-War era Fort Morgan and the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in nearby Mobile. The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is a good option for bicyclists and hikers as it winds through miles of picturesque wetlands and woodland. Golfers and sports enthusiasts will also feel right at home with five quality courses within a few miles of the city, plus the Gulf State Park, which has a zipline course, more golfing, tennis courts, and additional miles of bike trails.

An Orange Beach timeshare is also a great choice for families, with the Wharf being one of the city's most famous attractions. It has a wide range of shopping, dining, and entertainment options suited for all ages including the Ferris Wheel, marina, and 10,000 seat amphitheater where you can often catch famous artists performing live. A few blocks from the beach you'll find the Gulf Coast Zoo, which has animal exhibits, children's activities, and special events throughout the year. Adventure Island is another major draw for families, with its hours of fun playing bumper boats, arcade games, mini golf, and other carnival activities.

Nighttime Activities

At night, the city remains a haven for families looking for a quiet place to spend their holidays but it is not completely quiet if you know where to look. Mostly you'll find nightlife at the various restaurants overlooking the beach and near the beach, which frequently have live music, karaoke, and other types of entertainment until closing time. At some of these, you can even spend the night out on the deck overlooking the water, sipping drinks and watching the moon come up over the Gulf of Mexico. There are a few places where you'll also find dancing and live music, especially near the marinas and yacht clubs where the younger crowds of beachgoers tend to hang out.

Best Time to Visit

May through July are the most popular times to visit Orange Beach, with sharp declines into August and September when the humidity reaches its peak and families start returning to school. The slowest season runs from September through November so if you want to avoid crowds this is the time, although you may find that some of the outdoor excursions will also vary in availability by season.

If you come to your Orange Beach timeshare during the winter months from December through February, the crowds will be of medium size, and the temperatures moderate, with average high temperatures between 50-60 degrees F. It's a little cool for beach weather, but with fairly low humidity and rainfall it can be a great time to enjoy some of Orange Beach's other outdoor destinations.
