The glamour and excitement of South Beach provides vacationers with a terrific South Florida experience. Now that we’re almost into November and the weather really begins to chill, thoughts of a Miami Beach getaway start to come alive as northerners begin to winterize.

What is it that makes South Beach such a sought-after destination? And why choose a South Beach timeshare for your vacation? Let’s take a look.

South Beach – More Than Just Art Deco

Many of the most iconic images of South Beach are the art deco buildings that line Ocean Drive.

There is a certain romance to these images, especially for those people of a certain age that remember The Jackie Gleason Show which was filmed at the Miami Beach Auditorium during the 1960s. Now known as The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, you can visit and attend live concerts and events at this place where television history was made.

But there is much more to South Beach than the architecture.

Visitors flock to the shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and nightlife that have made this area such a legendary destination.

There are luxurious spas for some rejuvenation, tours of the art deco district, fishing down at the South Pointe Park and Pier and shopping at the Lincoln Road Mall, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

For more history, you can visit a Spanish Monastery structure which dates to the year 1133. Yes, oddly enough, the monastery was purchased by William Randolph Hearst in 1925, with the structure disassembled and shipped from Spain to the U.S. – only to end up reassembled in Miami.

For a more kid-friendly activity, check out the Miami Children’s Museum with its Castle of Dreams and Music Makers Studio. There is also a playground and volleyball nets at Lummus Park, which runs alongside Ocean Drive between 5th street and 14th Place.

Remember, South Beach is just one part of the Miami Beach area, so you can do some exploring at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, check out Little Havana or swim with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium.

And there is obviously the beach.

Is the Beach Really That Great?

Combining the aqua blue water and soft sand with spectacular weather year-round, the beach at South Beach is a superb place to work on your tan, hit the waves and people watch.

Vendors can provide beach chairs and umbrellas, and you can satisfy your appetite for water sports by renting a jet ski, paddleboard, kayak or even soar above the beach on a parasail.

Not only is the beach at South Beach a terrific stretch of sand for sun lovers, there is also the South Beach Boardwalk – where you can walk, jog, or even bike ride to take in the sights and sounds.

Why a Timeshare on South Beach?

This depends on the type of vacation you prefer. For the heavy party crowd that ends up face-planted on the bedroom floor, you may just need a hotel room instead of a timeshare. But for those couples and families looking for more space, comfort and amenities from your accommodation, a timeshare is the way to go.

Timeshares offer more of a condo-style experience, with living room, kitchen, dining table and separate bedrooms rather than being cramped up in a hotel room. You will have that chic feeling of being in the midst of all the action, but with a comfort level far above standard accommodation.

You are sure to love the restaurants, but for every meal? Kitchens let you keep your costs down by at least prepping your own breakfasts and lunches, especially if you have kids to consider.

These resorts provide concierge services to help with planning activities and making reservations, with laundry facilities coming in handy after a day on the beach. And fear not – there’s Wi-Fi as well.

Popular South Beach Timeshare Resorts

Some of the leading hospitality brands in the world have timeshare resorts on South Beach, as they tap into the visitor demand for the location. Below are the leading South Beach timeshares which are affiliated with these brands:

Other South Florida Timeshare Options

If you own a timeshare or are part of a timeshare points program and your network does not have a resort specifically in South Beach, you can still enjoy the destination. Through exchange companies like RCI, II and 7Across, you can deposit your current ownership and exchange to stay in a South Beach timeshare.

Other brands such as Bluegreen Vacations have South Florida resorts within close proximity to Miami Beach, so you can still experience the flavor of the destination. Bluegreen Resort's Solara Surfside is one such resort, located only about seven miles north of South Beach on Collins Ave and a straight shot down A-1-A to the Art Deco District.

Programs such as Wyndham, WorldMark and Capital Vacations also have South Florida resorts in their networks, with wonderful beach locations apart from the sometimes hectic pace of South Beach.

You can have an amazing South Florida vacation every year and get all of these benefits at a great price when you buy a South Beach timeshare. Plus, with the flexibility of today’s ownership programs, you can still travel to other resorts within your network if you choose a different destination.
