Families and couples wanting a timeshare within the Disney World theme parks will love Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower. It is within walking distance of Magic Kingdom and connected via monorail and bus with the other Disney Parks.

By staying at a timeshare within the Disney Parks, vacationers will be able to enjoy all the comforts of the Disney resort experience with the added benefits of a spacious, comfortable stay.

Staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower

The Skyway Bridge links Bay Lake Tower with the full array of Disney's Contemporary Resort amenities, including dining, swimming, fitness, and entertainment. The Bay Lake Tower itself has both studio apartments and multi-bedroom villas suitable for both large and small groups.

At the top of the Bay Lake Tower rests the Top of the World Lounge, a cocktail restaurant featuring unbeatable views of Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary Resort. Dining is also available onsite with the Cove Bar, located next to the Bay Tower Cove Pool, where you'll find quick meals such as wraps and salads. That pool also offers a 20-foot waterslide, a children's water play area, and a shallow entry reminiscent of a beach.

These Disney timeshare resales are also within an easy walk of the full range of dining and amenities at the Disney Contemporary Resort. Here, you'll find multiple dining options including character dining at Chef Mickey's, several American and grilled dining restaurants, and even plenty of drink specials.

The Disney Contemporary Resort has two more pools, a leisure pool above Bay Lake, and a feature pool with a 17-foot waterslide. Other amenities included with a Disney World timeshare stay include the arcade, fitness center, jogging path, marina, and a barbecue area.

Bay Lake is at the center of many popular activities, and vacationers can rent a boat, go waterskiing, wakeboard, and fish while staying at the resort. Weather permitting, movies are shown beneath the Skyway Bridge, and you can take a pirate-themed cruise along the lake complete with a nightly fireworks show.

A stay in one of these Disney timeshare resales also means easy access to all of the Disney Parks, but especially Magic Kingdom, which is within walking distance as well as on the monorail syste, of the Contemporary Resort, along with monorail service to Epcot.

Bus services can also link visitors to other Disney Parks. Or, you can explore the immediate area by specialty cruise. Pontoon cruises can be booked for special events, birthday parties, and romantic sunsets over the lake.

Rooms and Suites

At Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower, rooms and suites can be booked in three basic sizes with various layouts and views. The smallest bookings are for the studio apartments, which can have standard, lake, or theme-park views. Regardless of a studio or villa, the rooms come with free wireless internet access, a DVD player upon request, and television in the living room area.

The studios have a queen-sized bed and a pullout sleeper sofa, allowing accommodations for up to four people. The studios have a small kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, and mini-fridge. They are typically preferred by couples but can accommodate families with one or two younger children fairly easily.

Larger groups may find it more convenient to stay in one or two-bedroom Disney timeshares. Like the studio apartments, the multi-bedroom suites have standard, lake, and theme park views. These villas have full-sized kitchens equipped with all major appliances, a washer and dryer, a whirlpool tub, and a private porch or balcony.

The one-bedroom villas can accommodate up to five people, with a king-sized bed, a queen-sized sleeper sofa, and a single-person sleeper chair. The two-bedroom villas also have two queen-sized beds in the second bedroom, allowing them to sleep up to nine people. With a two-bedroom unit, there is a lock-off option within select villas.

The largest accommodations at Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower are the three-bedroom villas. These villas come with either lake or theme park views. They share the same amenities as the one and two-bedroom villas, including the full-sized kitchen, the outdoor patio or balcony, and a whirlpool tub. These villas have four queen-sized beds, two in each extra bedroom, and can sleep up to twelve guests each.

Things to Do In and Around Disney

Perhaps the most important daily activity planned for anyone staying at the resort would be trips to the Disney World theme parks. Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the two closest, but all the parks are easily accessible for visitors.

However, there is more to do around Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower than simply visiting Disney World, however fun that may be. Orlando is famous for its myriad family fun activities, including SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and Gatorland. All of these themed attractions can be fun for the entire family, and you would want to plan a day to explore each one.

Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is part of the Disney World experience but with a different feel than the major parks. Here you can shop, dine, and explore leisure attractions such as Cirque Du Soleil.

Activities Apart from the Theme Parks

Orlando has several parks and attractions in addition to the major theme parks. You can see the wild and weird at Ripley's Believe It or Not, stop to smell the flowers at the Harry P. Leu Gardens, or go inside the Orlando Science Center for an educational afternoon. If you still need something to do, you can always visit one of the area's mini-golf or full-sized golf courses, go shopping at the local malls, or take an excursion into the swamps to see real alligators.

While staying at a Disney World timeshare you may also want to get around and explore some of the areas just outside Orlando. Winter Park, Florida is a popular draw, especially for art lovers and shoppers wanting to see the famous art galleries, or splurge on purchases along Park Avenue and Winter Park Village.

An hour east is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which is one of the most popular day trips out of Orlando. At the Kennedy Space Center, visitors can learn about America's Space Program's history and future.

Best Times to Visit Disney's Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Tower

Orlando is a popular tourist destination year-round, with two main peaks of visitors, one in the winter and the other in the summer. The winter peak begins in December and runs through Spring Break month in March, while the summer peak begins around June and runs through August.

You'll also find a smaller peak in mid to late October when families flock to Orlando for gently scary Halloween fun at the city's theme parks. Naturally, these are the times of year easiest for families with children to travel to Orlando, and also when most people want to head south for Florida's warmer weather.

If you are hoping to catch a Disney World timeshare outside of the busier months, then you probably want to plan your trip in either the late spring or early fall, which tend to be the slower times of the year. The shoulder season runs roughly April through May, after many people enjoy taking a spring trip to Orlando, but between the busier Spring Break and summer months.

The slowest times of year are in September through early October so you might find the Disney timeshares easier to book and less crowded at that time. The good thing is that because of the year-round popularity and sunny weather in central Florida, you can expect pleasant weather and lots to do no matter when you travel.
