Ideally set next to Disney's California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney, your time at the "Happiest Place on Earth" never needs to end when staying at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Craftsmanship and grandeur are hallmarks of this elegant Disney Resort, from the stylish and cozy rooms to the graceful architecture of the common areas.

Swimming pools, dining areas, games, and entertainment surround you as you make the most of your accommodations, which can be a cozy studio or a spacious villa meant for the entire family. Yet signs of the House of Mouse sneak into the entire resort, from Mickey Ears tucked into the carpet patterns to themed murals above the headboards in the bedrooms.

This Disney timeshare resort contains all the amenities you could hope for out of a Disney experience. Its close proximity to Downtown Disney, Disney's California Adventure and legendary Disneyland means you will have exactly the access you want to spend quality family time at the parks. Yet on-site, there is still lots to see and enjoy.

For kids, nothing beats a grand afternoon at the three fun pools called Fountain, Redwood, and Mariposa, which together make up a water-park-like experience with woodsy backdrops, private cabanas, and plenty of fun. Special events are held throughout the year and can be seen at the front desk. These activities are especially popular with families looking to fill some free time on an otherwise busy schedule.

At the Eureka Fitness Center, guests can get in a full workout at one of the state-of-the-art machines, or join in a yoga session, fitness classes, meditation sessions, and aerobics, all of which are great ways to relax and spruce up the muscles before a full day in the park.

If those activities do not relax enough, the Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a full-service Spa designed to rejuvenate resort guests' minds, bodies, and spirits. The experience immerses the visitor in California's natural beauty, and it offers a variety of massage, salons, and other treatments designed to pamper and inspire.

The dining options are also top-notch, as you might expect from a Disney resort. These can be anything from a quick meal at the poolside cafe to a relaxing sit-down experience with fine wines and delightful storytelling. And remember to book your Disney Princess breakfast at the luxurious Napa Rose for a wonderful time with your favorite princesses.

Disney Timeshare Units and Villas

Studio units and larger villas can be booked by using Disney points, with smaller units costing fewer points than larger ones so you can easily decide which kind of accommodations you may need for your family or group. The property has over 900 rooms, so there is plenty of space for everyone, as well as a suite to match your precise needs. The resort's four types of units include studios, and one, two, or three-bedroom villas.

The Deluxe Studio is the most basic timeshare option on the resort. It accommodates up to four adults and has a queen-sized bed plus a queen-sized sleeper sofa and one bathroom. These accommodations include a kitchenette complete with a mini fridge, paper plates and utensils, a coffee maker, and a microwave. A flat-screen cable TV with a Blu-Ray player and Wi-Fi complete the room's entertainment options.

Multi-Room Villas

A Disney timeshare villa at the resort may have one, two, or three bedrooms. All share similar amenities including the full-sized kitchen, which is perfect for busy families wanting to make a quick breakfast or snack on the go, or for quiet meals after a busy day in the park. The kitchen has everything you may need, including a dishwasher, cooking and eating utensils, a stove and oven, a refrigerator, and a microwave.

Things To Do Nearby

Distinctive Disney adventures are just steps away from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The resort is next to Downtown Disney, has a special entrance to Disney California Adventure Park, and is within a 10-minute walk to the park that started it all - Disneyland.

By staying at the resort, you and other guests can receive early access to the theme parks and have your purchases delivered back to the hotel, saving the hassle of carrying around bags of souvenirs when all you want to do is catch the next ride.

If the convenience of being next door is not enough, then with a park-facing room you can watch the nightly World of Color show from the comfort and convenience of your suite.

California Adventure Park

Besides the pleasure of using your Disney points to have a great Disney vacation, you may want to slip away from the theme park to explore some of the other area attractions.

An afternoon stroll around CtrCity, the historic hub of downtown Anaheim, is filled with shops, restaurants, and palm-lined walkways which make an idealistic counterpoint to the flash and thrill of Disney. While there, be sure to visit The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center, an artsy and eclectic museum filled with interesting exhibits.

The Anaheim GardenWalk is another pedestrian-friendly destination near Disneyland Resort. Here, you'll find the House of Blues and many family activities such as bowling and arcades. If your dream involves Anaheim Nightlife, this district also has a vibrant after-dark atmosphere with bars, nightclubs, and live entertainment.

Knott's Berry Farm is another famed family destination worth checking out, with its amusement park rides, shows, dining, and, during the summer, a water park.

Finally, if you want to see the Pacific Ocean during your stay there are a few coastal cities about a thirty-minute drive from the area. Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Long Beach are all stops along the Pacific Highway if you are looking for a drive, and each has its own beaches and other attractions when you wish to plan a day trip along the coast.

Best Times to Visit Anaheim, California

The Disney experience in Anaheim is a year-round excellent destination, so there is really no wrong time to visit. However, as an extremely popular family vacation hotspot, there are naturally busier times of the year, especially when the kids are out of school. Summers from June through August are the busiest season, and this is reflected in the fact that water parks, summer festivals, and other highlights are at their best during those months.

The shoulder season is in the late winter through early Spring, with peaks of popularity during the winter break and spring break months. If you can make it during the holiday season, you can expect extra festivities such as hot cocoa in the lobby and special decorations in the common areas.

The slow season tends to be in the fall, especially from September through November between the summer and the winter break peak. If you are looking for deals or want to enjoy the parks when they are slightly less crowded, then you may want to consider traveling to the resort during these months.

Fortunately, the dream of Disney and the conveniences of staying at this Disney resort are at their best no matter which season you are traveling in.
