Things to Do at Ko Olina and Honolulu

Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is on the southwestern coast of Oahu, and about twenty-four miles from Honolulu. The lagoons are the biggest draw to this area, particularly for paddleboarding, canoeing, and snorkeling. Ko Olina Beach is also ideal for children and inexperienced swimmers since it gets gentler waves than other parts of Oahu. Ko Olina has both natural lagoons, which are best for snorkeling, and man-made lagoons, which are perfect for swimming.

This Marriott Vacation Club resort is also located within easy day trips of Honolulu. Not only will you get to explore more of the island, but you can tour some of its best attractions such as Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Waikiki Beach.

If you are looking for hiking, waterfalls, and other inland adventures, you will want to head toward the north and east sides of the island. Diamond Head State Monument is on the eastern side of the island near Honolulu, and its challenging hike is rewarded with spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding mountains.

The shoreline near Honolulu is also good to visit if you want to learn surfing, its gentler waves are perfect for beginners. In winter, however, huge waves off Sunset Beach offer fun challenges for more experienced surfers.

Best Times to Visit Ko Olina

The average temperature in Honolulu stays fairly constant throughout the year, so you can expect pleasant weather whenever you stay in a Marriott timeshare. The warm weather is especially enjoyable from December through March, which is the busiest tourism season.

Many families take advantage of the winter and spring breaks by traveling to their Hawaii timeshare during those weeks, so planning ahead is highly recommended. Summer is also a popular season in Hawaii, especially the two hottest and driest months of the year, in July and August.

If you are looking for a quieter visit, the shoulder and slow seasons are during the late spring and the fall. Tourism drops off from April through May, and again from September through November. The temperatures during these months are still perfect for outdoor activities, and with fewer crowds, you may find it easier to enjoy some of the region's most popular beaches and attractions. Plus, being on the leeward side of the island, you'll have less rain in Ko Olina than in other parts of Oahu.

Regardless of the season, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is ready to welcome you to your timeshare escape and bring you to the very best that Oahu has to offer. Whether you are wanting a romantic getaway with your special someone, or to make memories with your family, you will enjoy your Oahu vacations.
