An Overview of Hyatt Coconut Plantation

Situated on the Florida Gulf of Mexico coast at Estero Bay, this Bonita Springs timeshare is surrounded by lush landscaping and the Raptor Bay Golf Course. The resort is singularly secluded, which is highly desirable depending upon the type of vacation your family is seeking.

Bonita Springs is located just north of Naples on the southwest coast of Florida. A related property, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, boasts the Stillwater Spa and several dining outlets which can be patronized by guests of the timeshare property.

A quiet setting promises a relaxing stay while a free shuttle service is available to take guests to stores as well as the ferry that goes to the private island. This service is limited, so be certain to check the schedule before arrival. A car is essential for guests wanting to explore more of the region.

The overall resort feels a great deal like a park in an upscale tropical setting. Consisting of three four-story buildings done in pastel colors, Hyatt Coconut Plantation has beautifully landscaped grounds. The name is apt for the surroundings as the property maintains a tropical plantation theme throughout. With colonial-style furniture, the effect is gracious and elegant.

The large, airy lobby is a wonderful place to relax with gorgeous hardwood floors and an abundance of natural light. White-painted exposed beams are placed in the soaring ceiling along with woven fans. A beautifully finished stone fireplace is a cozy touch, as are the many wicker seating areas done in earth tones.

Accommodations at Hyatt Coconut Plantation

Several room configurations are available to guests of these Hyatt timeshares. Studios and one-bedroom suites accommodate up to four guests while the two-bedroom suites are prepared for as many as eight guests.

Each timeshare suite features a private, screened-in balcony that highlights a view of either the golf course of the estuary. The one- and two-bedroom suites have full kitchens that are complete with all of the equipment that's necessary for preparing wholesome meals.

In each master suite is an ensuite bathroom featuring either a soaking or jetted tub. Hyatt Euro Beds are found in each bedroom, and all accommodations have flat screen televisions with Blu-ray players. In-suite washers and dryers are found in all one- and two-bedroom villas.

Regardless of which type of unit suits your party, your accommodations will be elegant and well-appointed with colonial-style furniture. The wicker chairs, dark wood furniture, wall art with beach themes and pastel green walls are all tasteful and soothing.

The Fabulous Pools

pool with zero entry

One of the top reasons for choosing this Hyatt timeshare resort is its pools. In all, there are five, with one of these being a 1,000-foot lazy river. People traveling without kids will appreciate the quiet of the adults-only lap pool, but there also are a children's pool, family pool and grotto with waterfalls to explore.

Most of the pools have at least one zero-depth entry area, making them ideal for younger or more careful swimmers. Moreover, certain pools have in-water seating to keep guests cool on hot days. Lounge chairs and tables are set up around the pools, and the Lazy River is bordered by Tiki Huts that are complete with hammocks. A large hot tub is available as well.

Additional Resort Amenities

fitness center

This is one resort that has no shortage of things to do. Many guests praise the spacious and well-equipped fitness center. It certainly is larger than most, and it boasts plenty of natural light. With dumbbells, weight training machines and cardio equipment, this gym has everything that the traveling fitness enthusiast might desire.

Every member of the family is bound to love this resort, and the kids are no exception. Of course, kids love the pools and the lazy river, but there's the Cape Manatee program as well. This kid’s club features both half-day and full-day sessions that are packed with all sorts of fun and educational things to do.

Between this property and its sister resort, there are even more activities to try. A playground, courts for basketball and volleyball, a game room and shuffleboard courts keep the fun going all day long. Other amenities that are engaging for the whole family include a rock-climbing wall and a putting green.

A small store is located on site where guests can pick up basic groceries as well as Starbucks coffee and perfectly prepared picnic baskets that are ideal for a day at the beach. Speaking of lunch, The Veranda restaurant is open every day. Coconut Tiki Bar is located here as well, and guests who are looking for more diverse dining opportunities may visit the sister property with its six restaurants and bars. Room service is provided during limited hours.

What to Do in Bonita Springs

This resort is somewhat isolated, which is wonderful for families who are looking for a relaxing getaway that's far from the everyday hustle. Still, that does mean that the things to do right around the resort are limited to the property and its sister resort.

You'll definitely need a car to explore farther afield, and it's worth the expense to see more of this beautiful landscape. One of the top destinations in the area is Barefoot Beach Preserve. Encompassing nearly 350 acres, this undeveloped barrier island is an inviting spot for joggers, walkers, swimmers and sunbathers. Many animal species live here, so a visit also is a great opportunity for viewing wildlife.

How about a kayak voyage to see more of Bonita Springs from the water? Several kayak rental facilities are in the area, some of which offer a mobile service that brings the kayaks to the launching site of your choice. The operator or the concierge at your resort can provide you with plenty of ideas for the best places to explore the water.

A favorite Bonita Springs destination for many families is The Wonder Gardens. In operation since the 1930s, this incredible attraction is the home of more than 300 rescued reptiles and birds. It's also a stunning botanical garden. Get to know tortoises, turtles, macaws, pythons and others as your family indulges in an immersive and educational experience. Be sure to check the website for hours before you go, as the storm season in the summer may significantly limit operating hours.

Before you arrive in the area, you'll want to check out the calendar of events at Bonita Springs Riverside Park. This majestic outdoor venue is fun to visit in any season, but it's also the site of numerous events and festivals throughout the year. Perhaps you'll attend an art show, a holiday celebration or a movie in the park. The park also is the scene of the Celebrate Bonita Festival each spring.

The Hyatt Coconut Plantation may be located alongside a lovely golf course, but it's not the only game in town. Take the whole family to Congo River Golf in Bonita Springs. This adventurous and challenging mini-golf course is fun for everyone, taking you through rainforests, caves and tropical mountains. You might also take advantage of opportunities to feed the live alligators or try your luck at finding gems in the Congo River Mining Experience. There's an arcade game room and a chance to play the Exploration Game, too.

If your family would love the opportunity to visit a thriving local farm, make certain that Farmer Mike's U Pick is on your itinerary. This is the ideal place to pick up produce that can be included in the meals that you prepare in the full kitchen of your suite. Depending on the time of year that you visit, you might find bell peppers, tomatoes, corn, strawberries and more. Watch for annual festivals too, especially those that occur every fall.

Do you have a taste for adventure? If so, then you may want to find an operator that offers parasailing and jet-ski experiences. Pulse-pounding excitement awaits everyone who dares to dart across the waves or sail high above them.
