Posted on July 07, 2022

Hilton Grand Vacations is a leading vacation ownership program with 55 Hilton-branded timeshare resorts across eight countries. Known the world over for quality accommodations, Hilton offers a resort experience with spacious suites, on-site dining, spectacular amenities, and high-quality guest services.

Groups, individuals, and families can all find their place and enjoy a home away from home with the Hilton Vacation Club. Each resort has its own individual characteristics and elements to fit your vacation needs each and every time.

Hilton offers a points-based system for ownership allowing total flexibility over when, how, and where you want to spend your points for vacation, business, and more.

How Do Hilton Grand Vacations ClubPoints Work?

When you purchase a Hilton timeshare, you are assigned a certain number of ClubPoints. Your points are deeded to the resort at which you purchased and the number of points you earn is based on criteria such as the popularity of the resort, location, season, and the size of the unit.

Think of ClubPoints like vacation currency; the amount of points you have is the amount you can use for a trip. You renew ClubPoints on an annual basis and Hilton offers the flexibility of saving points for later dates or borrowing points to fulfill a trip.

Along with ClubPoints, Hilton Grand Vacation Club members are able to use Hilton Honors points to enjoy stays at 6,600 hotels and resorts within the Hilton network.

ClubPoints vs Hilton Honors

Hilton Honors is a hotel loyalty reward system where guests earn 10 points for every US dollar spent on the room rate and other room charges.

Hilton Honors points are different from HGV ClubPoints; however, Hilton Grand Vacation Club members may convert ClubPoints into Hilton Honors points to redeem stays at different hotels and resorts under the Hilton umbrella. Members can also enjoy savings through Hilton Honors on travel products like car rentals, access to exclusive Hilton Honors experiences and even savings on Amazon.com.

HGV Max

Hilton Grand Vacations recently launched a new program called HGV Max. As a member, you gain access to 140 more resorts and access to the former Diamond Resort network as a result of Hilton’s purchase of Diamond last year.

There are six different tiers under the HGV Max membership and some of those benefits include: private concerts with top artists and events, complimentary guest certificates, and discounts on Hilton hotels.

There is a $199 activation fee, $450 ownership change fee, and $7,000 HGV Max initiation fee to take into consideration. The points system works the same - use your ClubPoints to book stays or convert them to Hilton Honors points. As an HGV Max member, you’ll be receiving the highest quality service and amenities Hilton has to offer.

Benefits of Becoming a Hilton Grand Vacation Club Member

As mentioned before, owning a Hilton timeshare comes with spectacular flexibility on point spending as well as unparalleled resort experiences. Hilton also offers owners the option to join the world’s largest vacation exchange program, Resort Condominiums International (RCI).

ClubPoints can be traded for stays at RCI resorts worldwide. With over 4,000 resorts, owners can stay at RCI affiliated resorts from Paris to Cancun and all the way to Tokyo. This exchange program allows Hilton Grand Vacation Club members to truly use their points to the fullest.

Another program that Hilton timeshare owners can use to their advantage is ClubPartner Perks. This program allows owners to use ClubPoints to book a slew of vacation experiences with different partner companies.

One of the ClubPartner Perks that owners can take advantage of is Grand Adventures. These adventures are like guided excursions with other club members to places like Machu Picchu or a tour of the Great Lakes. Owners also have access to cruises, houseboat travel, motorcycle travel, RV travel and more through ClubPartner Perks.
