Now that the turkey has been devoured and your family has survived four days of football with you, our focus turns to the December holiday season.

You may already be in the midst of your Hanukkah festivities or shopping for Christmas. But are you planning to take a trip over the holiday break later this month?

There is a reason places like Disney World invest so heavily on holiday-themed décor and events – because people plan getaways. If this is you, let’s check out some resort destinations with great Christmas events that also host popular timeshare resorts.

Where to Find Great Christmas Events

New York

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

Who hasn’t at least thought about checking out the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center?

Whether it is the holiday window displays in the shops along Fifth Avenue or a carriage ride through Central Park, New York City has been a backdrop for countless holiday movies and a bucket list destination for decades.

Check out the shopping and food kiosks at the Winter Village at Bryant Park or take in The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes.

Take a look at the decorated 55-foot Christmas tree at the Honolulu Hale Courtyard. It is an actual tree that was planted in the 1950s and the city lights it up every year.

Honolulu City Lights kicks off this Saturday and the lights through downtown Honolulu will be lit through Christmas but you’ll need transportation and tours are available.

The Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade takes place next Saturday, December 11, with boats lit up for the holidays meandering through the waterfront at Hawaii Kai Marina. And remember to catch Santa as he rolls up onto Waikiki Beach in a canoe!
