Top 10 Timeshare Resorts in 2022

Blog Image

Posted on February 04, 2023

Looking back at last year and the offer numbers timeshare buyers placed through our platform revealed some interesting selections that we wanted to share with our readers. So, we’ve assembled our list of the top 10 timeshare resorts in 2022 which is slightly different than in previous years, or even in previous posts this year.

One of the criticisms of the timeshare resale market in general, and resale companies in particular, is the assumption that only the big, hospitality-branded resorts get the love on the secondary market. While the marketing machines of the big brands certainly contribute to this theory (and you can’t blame them since it is their job to sell timeshare), other less recognizable brands are also gaining attention from savvy buyers looking for specific resorts.

Therefore, we’ve compiled our top 10 list based on the number of offers placed through our system, but also considering the way the more well-known brands can sometimes skew the results.

There are some surprises, so let’s take a look.

Reviewing the Top 10 Timeshare Resorts in 2022

Below, we have chosen the top timeshare resort for each of the companies shown below, assessing the most popular resort for each company based on resale offers. This way, if a resort from a lesser-known company attracted a noticeably large number of offers, it could make the list.

1) Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek

Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort

You’ve probably guessed this one due to the previous blogs we’ve posted that include this decidedly popular resort next to Disney World. Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a jewel in the Wyndham Vacation Ownership crown, with easy access to the Disney theme parks yet with all of the great amenities you want in a vacation resort.

Multiple swimming pools, lazy river, children’s pool, onsite bars and restaurants and kid’s activity program meet all your needs. All from your one-, two-, three- or four-bedroom suite.

2) Sheraton Vistana Resort

Sheraton Orlando timeshare resort

The one that started it all, Sheraton Vistana Resort was originally built in 1980 and is considered the first of the Orlando timeshare resorts. But there’s nothing nostalgic about this resort that continues to be as popular as ever.

With all the modern upgrades, you’ll find seven pools, eight hot tubs, sauna and steam rooms, tennis, volleyball, mini-golf, game room, arts & crafts for the kids, five food and bar outlets and much more. One- and two-bedroom villas make it all possible.

3) Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II

Palm Desert timeshare resort

With all of the terrific Marriott Vacation Club resorts in its program, this may come as a bit of a surprise. But the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area has always been popular with vacationers going back to the Sinatra-led Rat Pack days of the 1950s.

Next to its sister resort, Marriott's Desert Springs Villas, Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II offers access to this legendary location, next to the Desert Springs Golf Club. Seven pools, hot tubs, fitness center, tennis courts, The Shade Kid’s Club and refreshments from The Water's Edge Bar & Grill provide the fun before retreating to your studio, one- or two-bedroom villa.

4) La Costa Beach Club Resort

Pompano Beach timeshare resort

This Capital Vacations resort leads the pack of the nearly 200 independent resorts they work with, and with all that this south Florida resort in Pompano Beach offers, it’s easy to see why.

Oceanfront with private beach access, at La Costa Beach Club Resort you’ll see three swimming pools (with indoor and outdoor options), two hot tubs, fitness center, outdoor grills and close to a Trampoline Park, Xtreme Action Park and Harrah’s Casino. Choose from studio, one- and two-bedroom units and the one-bedroom townhouse.

5) Orange Lake Resort

Orange Lake timeshare resort Orlando

The flagship resort of the Holiday Inn Club Vacations collection, Orange Lake Resort is always a popular choice.

Next to Disney Animal Kingdom and with easy access to the rest of Disney World, this 1450 acre complex is home to four distinct villages - with unique accommodation styles and access to the terrific golf courses, swimming pools, sports courts, kids activities and food and drink establishments. Studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom options are available, depending on the village.

6) Bluegreen Resort's The Fountains

Bluegreen Orlando timeshare resort

Orlando continues to be the destination of choice, and Bluegreen Resort's The Fountains makes four of our top six resorts on our list with a central Florida address. This leading Bluegreen Vacations resort is located on International Drive, with access to the top I-Drive shopping, dining and activities but only a 15-minute drive to Disney Springs.

Onsite amenities start with the massive 75,000-square-foot Bluegreen Wakoola Springs, with pools, water slides, fountains and hot tubs. Splash Pool Bar & Grill or Wakoola Bar & Grill take care of your food and beverage needs or rejuvenate at Soleil Spa. It all starts with your one-, two- or three-bedroom villa.

7) Royal Floridian Resort

Ormond Beach timeshare resort

Another of the timeshare companies you may not have heard of, Spinnaker Resorts features the Royal Floridian Resort in Ormond Beach, Florida. Just north of Daytona Beach, this resort has a wonderful location right on the beach facing the Atlantic Ocean.

The oceanfront pool is the place to relax, while the beach seems to go on forever in either direction. The kids have their own pool and splash pad, while the indoor pool and hot tub are great for those inclement weather days. Sports court, mini-golf and Tiki Bar have everything else covered. Afterwards, retire to your studio, one- or two-bedroom unit.

8) Vacation Village at Williamsburg

Williamsburg timeshare resort

Vacation Village Resorts makes our list at one of the leading timeshare destinations in the country, Williamsburg, Virginia. Vacation Village at Williamsburg offers access to the center of Colonial Williamsburg only 10 minutes away, yet about 20 minutes from Busch Gardens or Water Country USA.

Onsite you’ll find indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, children’s pool, sports courts, beach volleyball and game room. Choose between two- and four-bedroom suites.

9) Tahiti Village

Las Vegas timeshare resort

Tahiti in Las Vegas? Absolutely, and this Somerpointe Resorts offering is just the place to combine the vibe of Polynesia with the glam of the Strip.

Located on S. Las Vegas Boulevard, Tahiti Village has one of the best pool and lazy river options in Vegas, along with four dining and drink outlets, organized activities, the respite of the Mahana Spa and even complimentary shuttle service to the heart of the Strip. One-bedroom units (Moorea and Bora Bora buildings) and two-bedroom units (Royal Tahitian building) are just what you need for your Vegas vacations.

10) Royal Sands

Royal Sands Cancun timeshare resort

Our international choice features the Mexico timeshare resort Royal Sands, the flagship resort of the Royal Resorts family that has been popular on the Cancun timeshare scene for years.

Right on the beach in the legendary Cancun Hotel Zone, the resort also offers all-inclusive plans with nine restaurant and bar options, four swimming pools, kid’s club, non-motorized water sports and treatments at the amazing Royal Sands Spa. Studio, one- and two-bedroom suites make it all happen.

There are certainly familiar brands which are not on our list, often due to the dynamics of the timeshare resale market (think asking price!) or lack of inventory provided by sellers looking to sell their timeshare.

Remember that this is a list based on individual resorts and not on offers placed on companies in the aggregate, which could also include points programs. You can see our list of the top 10 companies from 2022 here.
