As we approach the end of February, snow-bound northerners and those just looking for a break cast their wayward attention south. This can only mean one thing – Spring Break is almost here!
The term Spring Break can mean different things to different people. For College students, it may mean a road trip to places like Panama City Beach, Fort Lauderdale or a flight to Cancun. For families, it could mean hitting the Orlando theme parks or exploring San Diego for those on the west coast.
Because school schedules are different in various parts of the U.S., Spring Break could be later in the Spring than in other warm weather districts such as Florida. This can open up places like Hilton Head Island, which has a really pleasant average high temperature in the low-mid 70s across March and April.
With Easter later this year, on April 17, this provides even more opportunity to schedule a Spring Break trip. March is great, but April is even milder in the southern/mid-Atlantic region so you can broaden your search even further.
Keep in mind that, contrary to popular belief, Spring Break isn’t all about booze and beaches. A number of communities in Florida have spent big dollars trying to dispel the imagery of throngs of young people packed into Wet T-shirt contests.
The reality is that, for timeshare owners especially, this is more about taking vacations as the thaw begins up north, with school breaks allowing for time with the family out of the house. And after enduring the past two years, isn’t that really what everyone wants?
Travel trends appear to be supporting this, with a recent survey by Destination Analysts revealing that 76 percent of Americans say family experiences on vacation are either essential or a high priority. Just over 72 percent agreed that “Spending time with family and making memories with them is important to why they travel.”
This is important in regard to timeshares, since timeshare resale accommodations provide multi-room, condo-style units with plenty of space for an entire family. According to the American Resort Development Association, the most popular timeshare layout is a two-bedroom unit, with all of the privacy and additional space needed for a great vacation.
We’ve been tracking this information for years, as consumers place offers and inquiries onto specific resorts through our online platform. So, we are able to show the Spring Break destinations that vacationers are looking for, along with popular timeshare resorts in those destinations:
Is there a more spectacular combination of beach and high-end resorts than Cancun? Combined with the amazing restaurants, nightlife and overall party atmosphere, Cancun and the Riviera Maya region is the definition of a Spring Break destination.
However, keep in mind that this tends to skew toward the younger party crowd, so families looking for a more low-key trip may want to schedule Cancun at a different time of the year. Still, with the cenotes, Mayan ruins, snorkeling and shopping available, Cancun is much more than party central.

San Diego is an underrated timeshare destination, with vacation ownership resorts in areas as diverse as the Balboa Park Area, Gaslamp Quarter, Mission Valley, Coronado Beach and the countryside of Escondido.
There is so much to do, from the famous San Diego Zoo to SeaWorld, USS Midway Museum, beaches, amazing golf, eclectic bars and restaurants, shopping and the wine country.

Our most popular towns along the Gulf Coast area of the Florida panhandle are the well-known Spring Break towns of Panama City Beach and Destin.
This is where the locals really roll out the welcome mat for Spring Breakers, and because it is so accessible to millions of people within driving distance, this is sure to be popular this year. Panama City Beach tends to be the rowdier of the two spots, but there is more than enough beach space for everyone.
Top Timeshare Resorts: Wyndham Majestic Sun (Destin), Wyndham Vacation Resorts Panama City Beach, Marriott's Legends Edge at Bay Point (Panama City Beach)
Sedona may not always be top of mind for Spring Break destinations, but this is actually the perfect time to visit. Because so much of the draw to Sedona is based on outdoor activities, the average high temps between 68-76F (20-25C) over March and April allow for fabulous hiking, biking, off-roading, sightseeing and boutique shopping before the region really heats up.

For Spring Breakers, the South Florida region is usually defined around South Beach and Fort Lauderdale, but there is a lot more to the area – especially for families.
The area generally stretches from the Palm Beaches in the north through Boca, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and the Miami area before hitting the entry to the Florida Keys. This covers an area about 115 miles long, with communities dotted all along the coast just waiting for vacationers to enjoy the beach and local culture.
