FAQ About Disney's Beach Club Villas Timeshares

What is the Difference between Disney Beach Club and Beach Club Villas?

The Disney Beach Club Resort is the hotel side of the complex, whereas the Disney Beach Club Villas are the vacation club units. Beach Club Villas are in a separate building within the complex and feature condo-style timeshare accommodations as compared to the hotel rooms.

Villas are in studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts providing all of the space necessary for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Timeshare units have kitchen facilities, flat-panel TVs and Wi-Fi, with the larger units also featuring living room, dining area and in-unit washer/dryer.

Guests in both types of accommodation have use of the resort amenities such as the swimming pools, children’s pools, lazy river and hot tubs within the three-acre water complex. Onsite bars and food options at the Cape May Café refresh your palette, with sports courts, outdoor movie nights and watersports on Crescent Lake providing even more fun.

Regardless of where you stay, you’ll be able to walk to EPCOT if you like or take the boat to nearby Disney Hollywood Studios. Complimentary bus transportation can take you to any of the Disney parks.

Is Disney Beach Club Worth the Money?

Disney Beach Club is a fabulous resort but determining whether Disney Beach Club is worth the money can depend on how you book your accommodation and whether you are a Disney Vacation Club timeshare member.

Hotel room rates at Disney Beach Club have been quoted online to cost as much as $500 - $700 a night depending on the type of room booked. So, you’re looking at a potential cost of $3,500 - $4,900 for a week’s vacation in a hotel room at the resort.

Compare that to the cost of a Disney Vacation Club membership and you’ll see the advantage that DVC points owners have – along with the benefit of using those points to stay in other Disney timeshare resorts in Florida, South Carolina, California and Hawaii.

Disney Beach Club Villas are quoted at $245 per point if bought directly through Disney. Looking at the number of points needed to stay in a Deluxe Studio unit, you’d need at least 100 points and as many as 134 points to stay in the unit during most weeks of the year. Even at the higher 134-point mark, that would cost you $32,830 to buy those points – but then prorate that figure over a 20-year usage and it averages out to about $1,641 a year for a week’s stay. The longer you own the points, the lower that average figure drops.

Now check out the discounts on the Disney resale market and the deal on Disney timeshare points gets even better. Disney Beach Club Villas resale points are reportedly as low as $145 per point, which is a massive saving over points bought from Disney. The resale price for those 134 points adds up to about $19,430, or $971 for the week over 20 years – an average saving of nearly $700 for the week by buying resale and substantially lower than booking a hotel room.

Keep in mind that there are annual fees and dues associated with owning Disney timeshare points. For Beach Club Villas it is $7.44 per point, which adds up to $996 on 134 points. So even if you add the fees to the resale price, it averages about $1,967 for a week over a 20-year ownership period. Again, compare that number to the much higher hotel booking rates and buying DVC resale points is still the best option and certainly worth the money if you are a Disney fan.

Can You See Fireworks from Beach Club Villas?

Because of the close proximity to EPCOT, certain Disney Beach Club villa guests can view the EPCOT fireworks from their unit. If this is a priority, contact the resort to see which timeshare units have the best view before you book your accommodation and be as specific as you can when making your reservation. You can also request a specific unit from resort staff when checking in, space available.

How Do You Get from Beach Club Villas to Magic Kingdom?

If you have your own transportation, you can always drive from Beach Club Villas to Magic Kingdom, but most guests take the complimentary bus provided by Disney. The distance is about three and a half miles or about eight minutes’ travel time.

How Many Rooms does Disney Beach Club Villas have?

The Disney Beach Club Villas section of the resort has 282 units with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom timeshare unit configurations. Because of the sofa beds that are double bed size, some studios can sleep as many as five with you factor in the pull-down bed. This can be a bit cramped for a studio unit, so families are better off looking at the multi-room Disney timeshares which have living rooms, dining tables and full kitchens with all the essentials to prepare healthy meals.
