Best Beach Locations to Escape The Cold Weather

Blog Image

Posted on November 05, 2021

Maybe it is a bit premature to start looking at what to do when the weather REALLY turns cold, but it’s never too soon to start fantasizing about a beach vacation. The leaves have already turned colors in most of the country – especially in the northeast – the Halloween candy has been handed out and sweaters have been on display for a while now, so winter is on the way.

Some of you, especially the skiers, can’t wait for the white stuff to start falling. But for those who groan at the thought of shoveling your driveway and sidewalk yet again, visions of sun, sand and surf are already dancing in your heads.

So, what are the best beach locations to hit when looking to escape the cold weather?

Keep It In Perspective

Before we go into details, it is important to recognize that vacationers often have a different expectation of what it means to escape the cold to a warmer weather destination. Anyone who has watched people from Minnesota swimming in the Gulf off Clearwater Beach in January knows what I’m talking about.

This is why you will see some locations on our list that may not always match up with your view of what a warm weather spot may be during winter. A Floridian may not think of Hilton Head for a winter beach trip, but someone from Toronto will take Hilton Head in January all day long.

As always, we rely on you, our faithful website visitors, to tell the story of where you want to visit and your favorite timeshare resorts. You tell us by the offers and inquiries you place through our online platform and, since the consumer is always right, who are we to argue?

Best Beach Locations

We’ve taken a look at the most popular timeshare resorts as determined by our visitors and ranked the best beach locations based on those resorts. Let’s check them out.

10) Cancun

Westin Lagunamar ResortWho can possibly argue with the spectacular beaches of Cancun? Undoubtedly the number one reason visitors flock to this Mexican Caribbean hotspot, the soft sand and turquoise waters beckon people all year long. Snorkeling, scuba and great watersports during the day, followed by the fabulous restaurants and epic nightlife.

Cancun Timeshare Resorts: Royal Islander, Royal Sands, Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort

9) South Florida

Yes, the stretch of South Florida development can seem to go on forever, but it continues to be a winter magnet for northerners and Canadians, especially now that the borders are open again. With numerous inbound flights and great weather year-round, vacationers know this region continues to exceed expectations every year.

South Florida Timeshare Resorts: Wyndham Palm Aire (Pompano Beach), Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort (Sunny Isles Beach), Hollywood Beach Tower

8) Aruba

Palm Beach Aruba

This island in the southern Caribbean always delivers with amazing beaches, azure blue water and sea breezes that keep everyone refreshed. Eagle Beach, Palm Beach, you name it - it’s about as laid back as you can get, but the watersports, casinos and nightlife give you all the activity you need.

Aruba Timeshare Resorts: Marriott's Aruba Surf Club, Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort & Casino, Playa Linda Beach Resort Aruba

7) St. Maarten

This fascinating Caribbean island shares Dutch and French heritage, divided by a “border” that you’d miss if you blinked and managed by separate entities which co-exist in a type of shared ownership environment.

Visitors get the best of both worlds, with stunning beaches on both sides from Baie Rouge beach through Marigot and around to Orient Beach on the French side to Simpson Bay around to Dawn Beach on the Dutch side.

St Maarten Timeshare Resorts: Diamond Resorts Flamingo Beach Resort, Diamond Resorts Royal Palm Beach Resort, Divi Little Bay Beach & Racquet Club

6) Hilton Head Island

Marriott timeshare resorts have dominated the Hilton Head scene for decades, as Marriott began its timeshare program in 1984 with what is now known as Marriott's Monarch at Sea Pines.

This amazing destination has wonderful beaches and natural habitat to explore, with over 12 miles of beach that has been recognized by Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast as one of the best beaches in the country.

Keep in mind that this is still South Carolina, so the winters can get chilly for some, but like I said earlier it is all about perspective.

Hilton Head Timeshare Resorts: Marriott's Grande Ocean, Marriott's Barony Beach Club, Marriott's Harbour Point

5) Daytona Beach

Daytona BeachThe home of the Daytona 500 has much more going for it than just car races. Yes, it can get chilly at times during January and early February (again, depending on your home location), but this famous beach destination has everything you would want in a coastal getaway.

Boardwalk fun, boating, fishing, golf, shopping and daytrip access to historic St. Augustine and the Orlando theme parks.

Daytona Beach Timeshare Resorts: Wyndham Ocean Walk, Diamond Resorts Daytona Beach Regency, Tropic Shores

4) Florida Panhandle

For visitors looking for resort-style vacations, this stretch of the Florida Gulf Coast runs essentially from Panama City Beach through to the beaches off Pensacola. Destin tends to be the focus for timeshares in this area but there are several great spots to check out along the way.

In Panama City Beach, try Camp Helen State Park Beach or St. Andrews State Park Beach for beaches away from the resorts. In Destin, check out Henderson Beach State Park or head down to Miramar Beach.

Florida Timeshare Resorts: Wyndham Vacation Resorts Panama City Beach, Wyndham Majestic Sun (Destin), Wyndham Vacation Resorts Emerald Grande (Destin)

3) Kauai

With breathtaking scenery, Kauai has it all from impressive beaches to incredible mountains. The resorts are located across the island, from the northern town of Princeville around the eastern coast through the Kapa’a area and down to Poipu in the south.

The island has 63 miles of accessible shoreline, but Poipu Beach is right at the top of the best beaches. Hanalei Bay and its protected beach near Princeville is a great choice. For an option closer to Lihue, go for Kalapaki Bay.

The more adventurous can try some of the locations to the west and northwest off the Na Pali Coast but check with your resort since some of these beaches are only accessible by paths or dirt roads.

Kauai Timeshare Resorts: Diamond Resorts The Point at Poipu, Wyndham Bali Hai Villas, Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club

2) Kaanapali Beach, Maui

Kaanapali Beach

Some of Maui’s most well-known timeshare resorts are located along this three mile stretch of beach, offering amazing views, exciting water sports and all-out fun. Lahaina is just down the street with its eclectic array of shops, eateries and history, but the real focus is on the shoreline.

Snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddleboarding, boating and whale-watching are just the beginning. Check out the cliff diving that takes place to the north at Puu Kekaa, otherwise known as Black Rock.

Maui Timeshare Resorts: Diamond Resorts Kaanapali Beach Club, Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North

1) Myrtle Beach

This incredibly popular timeshare location tops out list as the best beach location. With 60 miles of beaches across 14 distinct communities, the Myrtle Beach region has so much to offer from North Myrtle Beach through to Pawleys Island.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is the center of attention with its arcades, shops, restaurants and the SkyWheel, but you can’t go wrong at any of the beaches where you plant your umbrella. Many of the resorts congregate around North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach and, to the south, Surfside Beach in addition to Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Timeshare Resorts: Wyndham Ocean Boulevard, Wyndham Seawatch Plantation, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Towers on the Grove at North Myrtle Beach

We realize that there are some spots where timeshare is popular that haven’t made the list such as Cabo San Lucas, southern California and Waikiki Beach. If you have one in mind and you’re looking to get a great deal, click here to let us know what you are looking for or call 877-624-6889.
